Do You Need an iPhone?

Do You Need an iPhone?

There are many smart phones out on the market at the moment, but the most popular is Apple's iPhone. Much like most of Apple's line of products the iPhone is more of a bells and whistles type of product. There are a few things to consider when searching for the right smart phone for you. First you need to think about what you need and what you want as there is a fairly large difference between the two. Yes, you could have all of these fantastic apps on the phone but at what cost?

If you are interested in texting, MP3's, and phone call usage it may be best to just purchase a simple phone with a QWERTY keyboard. There would be no need to purchase an extra plan that is mandatory for a special internet service and messaging combined, all you would have to do is purchase a messaging plan that is suitable for your usage. If you want a phone that can do everything from GPS to Working to Shopping you more than likely would benefit from an iPhone. There are so many applications out there that you would never run out of what you need.

Taking into consideration what you use your phone for, it could either be beneficial or a waste of time, money, and energy. Yes, the iPhone is one of the most popular phones out there but does that mean you have to put yourself out just to fit in with the rest of the material world? Not only that but there are plenty of phones out there that cost much less, but still have the benefits that an iPhone provides. You can even find deals just for signing up to a new plan which makes phones cost a lot less. Make a fiscally intelligent decision based on your needs as opposed to your wants and you will never go wrong.

I think you are right the iphone might be too much for a lot of people but, this is in my opinion the best smart phone out right now. I like that you say not everyone has to get to fit in because i know so many people that get it and don't even use half of the features. At least they can get a cheaper one.

I was a die-hard BlackBerry man for almost five years. After I lost my job (and my BB), I had the opportunity to switch over to the iPhone. I tried to stay true to my BB roots, but I found out rather quickly that the iPhone is far better. More intuitive, better built and easier to personalize...jailbroken, of course.

You're right, everyone needs what's right for them! As I was just talking to someone about this same subject, I saw your link on the side bar and wanted to just put a "RESOUNDING YES" :) for a comment lol! But it really is true, everyone isn't in need of all it can do! GPS saved me many hours of being lost, and it mapped me home from a very rural area! It saves all my emails, I LOVE facetime, it's almost made my poor camera obsolete (well, almost not quite):) But I find myself using just about everything on it at some point! Great hub, you rise good questions for those who are wondering if they should spring for that extra $ a mo. or not! :) v-up & USEFUL!

TAFKAP777: jailbroken lol! :) Great comment too! :)
